CITY COUNCIL SWEARS-IN NEW MEMBER, YADIRA ALTAMIRANO

Lemon Grove, CA – The City of Lemon Grove announces the appointment of Yadira Altamirano as a new City Councilmember following a unanimous decision by the City Council during their regularly scheduled meeting on February 4, 2025.  Mrs. Altamirano was sworn in at the February 18, city council meeting.  

This vacancy was created after Councilmember Alysson Snow's election to Mayor of Lemon Grove at the November 2024 election, resulting in the need to fill her City Council seat. At the January 7, 2025 City Council meeting, the Council voted to fill the vacancy by appointment, with the selected individual serving the remainder of the term set to expire in December 2026.

A total of 9 applicants interviewed for the position. 

Following a comprehensive review and interview process, Yadira Altamirano stood out as the top candidate to serve the City of Lemon Grove. Her dedication to the community, combined with her passion for local government, will provide valuable leadership as the City continues to grow and move forward.

Yadira Altamirano’s appointment is effective immediately. She will attend her first official meeting as a City Councilmember during the City Council’s next regular meeting on February 18, 2025.
