Day Camp

Parks and Recreation offers a variety of fun ways for residents and visitors to engage in the community. Our park's recreation facilities allow people of all ages to find their niche and enjoy their fun.

Campers enjoy various indoor and outdoor activities, sports, clubs, arts and crafts, and more! Camp is supervised by our trained, caring, and enthusiastic Recreation staff, who always put your child's safety and well-being first!

Lemon Grove operates day camps that facilitate play and Recreation for children in K-8th grade at various times throughout the year. Our day camp correlates with the Lemon Grove School District student calendar.

What should campers bring? 

- Bring at least two nutritional snacks and a lunch everyday

9:00 a.m. 1st  Snack

12:00 p.m. Lunch

3:00 p.m. 2nd Snack

- Lots of water

The Lemon Grove Recreation Center has a refillable water station. 

- Wear sneakers/tennis shoes for safe play time (No open toe shoes, sandals, crocs) 

- We highly recommend labeling jackets, water bottles and lunch pails.  

- Refrain from bringing any valuables to camp, the City will not be responsible for lost or stolen items

What should you bring for pick up?

-Rec. Staff will ID every adult at the gate for pick up

-125 Campers

Sample Daily Schedule:

6:30 am -9:00 am   Check in, courtyard games, four square, tether ball, board games, pool, ping pong, air hockey, movies and reading.

9:00 am -9:30 a.m. 1st snack

9:30 - 12:00 pm  Campers will participate in a variety of sports, games, arts & crafts. Gym activities include: dodge ball, indoor soccer, basketball, volleyball, flag football, kickball, capture the flag, blue mat wars, Kings and Queens,, etc. Arts and crafts in room.

12:00 pm- 12:30 pm  Lunch

12:00 pm- 3:00 pm  Campers will participate in a variety of sports, games, arts & crafts. These activities include: dodge ball, indoor soccer, basketball, volleyball, flag football, kickball, capture the flag, blue mat wars, Kings and Queens wiffle ball, etc.

3:00 pm- 3:30 pm  2nd snack

3:30 pm- 6:00 pm   Check out, courtyard games, four square, tether ball, board games, pool, ping pong, air hockey, movies and reading. 

2025 Day Camps 

All payments must be submitted by the deadline. When capacity is reached, we will not reopen registration. Additionally, we will not accept any campers after the registration period has closed.

Spring Camp Registration Begins: January 27, 2025 

Deadline: December 19, 2024 @5:30pm 

Summer Camp Registration Begins: April 7, 2025

Week 1 and Week 8 will include on-site field trips. Camps are expected to arrive at the designated time for these days. Please note that we will not be able to issue a refund for late arrivals on Wednesday.

Weeks 2-7 have a field trip capacity of 100 campers, with spots allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be advised that there will be no refunds for late attendance on field trip days. 


 

Applications can be dropped off at City Hall or emailed to the Community Services Department.

To make payment:

Please make sure you have submitted Day Camp Registration Form BEFORE you make payment.

You can fax registration form to 619-825-3818 or send a copy via e-mail to iarmenta@lemongrove.ca.gov

In order to secure your child's spot, payment must be made at City Hall the Thursday PRIOR to the week they wish to attend. 

Payments must be made before you drop off your child, NO EXCEPTIONS!
