Park Updates

The City of Lemon Grove is excited to announce that construction has begun at Lemon Grove Park to replace the existing playground with a new and improved playground and swing set. The project is being completed with funding provided by the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation through the Proposition 68 Park and Water Bond Act of 2018 Per Capita program. The project will take about a month to complete, weather permitting.

A contract has been awarded to Miracle, an International Play Equipment Manufacturer's Association (IPEMA) certified vendor for the purchase and installation of custom playground equipment utilizing Sourcewell’s Cooperative Purchasing Program. The playground structure at Lemon Grove Park was installed over 20 years ago.  The playground structure has broken or missing parts, has incurred considerable repairs over the past few years and now needs to be replaced in order to meet current playground safety standards.

The new playground will consist of new play areas for children ages 2- 12 and consist of a variety of components such as slides, climbers, and ground level engagement pieces that conform to standards set-forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
